Am I Really A Business Owner?
Are you REALLY a business owner when you own stocks? Yes, in virtually everyway you are a business owner. As an owner of a share of stock you are really a LEGAL business owner.
Think of one of your favorite companies and products. Like Coach handbags, or McDonalds, or Pizza Hut. If you own a share of their stock, you are a legal business owner.
You will own a share of their profits. And you may be asked to vote for or against a pay raise for their top executives – that sounds like a business owner to me.
You will be sent an annual report telling you how well your business did that year. The people who go to work every day in those companies work for you.
The Chief Executive Officer works for you. The Chairman of the Board and the Board Members are working for your interest.
They all go to work every day to increase your wealth. Everybody works for you.
As an owner of stocks in a company, you are a business owner.
Here’s the really great thing about all of that. You don’t have to do anything. That has a nice sound to it, doesn’t it?
